Intro to Permaculture 09

25th - 26th July 9.30am - 5.30pm

"Fun and practical, I intend to live up to my reputation for this short course at one of the most interesting environmental arts centres in the Britain. During the weekend I hope to make full use of the woodlands, the stone circle, and some of the strange artifacts hanging around!"

This course will emerse the student into the practical philosophy of permaculture. Whilst introducing the ethics and principles in a creative way one is encouraged to participate and enhance a social dynamic and the need to work together and act as a group. Exercises will include visualisation techniques, games, sensory experiences, case studies, practical gardening and mini design sessions.

We will be utilising the wonderful diversity of elements within the Coed Hills landscape including woodland walks, the stone circle, the art, the croft, and the meadows. Food will be provided as part of the course fees, and camping or alternative accomodation is permitted. Fees work on a sliding scale.

Full-time employment: £110
Students and Low income: £55

One is encouraged to stay on longer or come earlier in order to take the opportunity to fully experience the surrounding landscape and the active eco-community. Woofing positions exist.

This course is a preliminary to the fuller residential design course in September and will introduce participants to various possible design features and project possibilities.
