Build a Turbine
Self-Build Wind Turbine Course 7th - 14th July 2010
In association with V3 Power (DIY Renewable Energy Cooperative)
This is a practical course on building a wind turbine from scratch. It includes carving aerodynamic blades from wood, winding electric coils, welding mountings, assembling electronic control systems and full installation on a tower. By the end of the course, participants will have built a fully working turbine. Basic theory of how to capture, manage and store energy from the wind will also be covered. The designs used are based on the Hugh Piggott axial flux.Weekend course

Early-bird prices continue until 7th June. Prices will increase after this date.
Beginners welcome. This is a not-for-profit course, and the majority of the costs go towards materials, food and accommodation. Options include camping and basic dorm style - bring your sleeping bag; or if you do not require accommodation you are welcome to commute to the course. There are also local B&B options.
